Maryland Right to Repair Summary

Maryland made progress on the Right to Repair. Let's build on it.

In 2025, Maryland enacted HB 31, now Chapter 546, giving powered wheelchair owners and independent repair shops access to the parts, instructions, and tools needed to repair covered components, including batteries and wheel assemblies. The law took effect October 1, 2025, helping protect the freedom to maintain equipment people depend on every day.

Now let's extend repair rights to more of the products we own. Tell your legislators you support affordable repairs for electronics, appliances, vehicles, and farm equipment, with the freedom to fix them yourself or choose someone you trust.
